Far from football: Ronaldo breaks a record on "Instagram" quickly racked up over 500 million likes
It seems that records are known by Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo, a Manchester United striker, even if they are far from football. Cristiano Ronaldo has broken every record on social media by becoming the first person in the world to reach 500 million followers on three powerful platforms: Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter the early hours of this Monday.
Argentina and Paris Saint-Germain superstar Lionel Messi ranks second behind Ronaldo in that list, with 375 million followers on Instagram. Ronaldo faces an unclear future with Manchester United, following his interview with journalist Piers Morgan, in which he attacked the club and the board of directors, as well as a number of his colleagues within the team.
It is worth noting that Ronaldo is currently in Qatar to lead the Portugal national team in its 2022 World Cup campaign, which will start on Thursday against Ghana in the framework of Group H of the tournament.
But the pair broke the internet on Saturday night, one day ahead of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, as they posted an advert on Instagram playing chess on a Louis Vuitton briefcase.
