Sadio Mane's World Cup Chances - Injury Scare

Bayern Munich assistant coach Dino Topmüller has confirmed that Sadio Mane has suffered a nerve blow, hinting that he should be fine before the start of the 2022 World Cup.
Mane, the former Liverpool player, began Bayern Munich's 6-1 victory over Werder Bremen in the German League on Tuesday evening, and after only 19 minutes of playing, the Senegalese star suffered a leg injury and was unable to continue, and Leroy Sani entered as a substitute for Mane.
With less than two weeks to go before the start of the World Cup in Qatar, his injury has made Senegalese fans nervous, but Topmüller confirmed that the injury looked worse than it was, and the assistant coach revealed his findings early on.
He told reporters: "He hit a nerve (in the leg), it doesn't look so bad."
Mane, who joined Bayern Munich earlier this summer, has been instrumental in Julian Nagelsmann's side this season, having so far made 23 appearances for the Bavarians across competitions, scoring 11 goals and four assists.
While his assistant Topmüller played down Mane's injury near the 2022 FIFA World Cup, Nagelsmann was more cautious in his assessment, with the German coach revealing that the Senegal international had suffered an injury to the top of his shin, and adding that Mane needed an X-ray to determine the extent of the injury.
The Bayern Munich coach told the press (via Jules): "He got hit on the top of his shin which always makes you feel uncomfortable, he needs an x-ray to see if there's anything bad because that part snaps easily, hopefully, that's not a thing. (Seriously)".
Since his debut, Mane has played 92 matches for his country, scoring 33 goals and 20 assists.
