Milan prepares contract extension for Giroud

Italian press reports indicated that Milan is ready to extend Olivier Giroud’s contract as the Frenchman continues to prove himself invaluable to the club. The 36-year-old French forward joined the club in a deal worth around €1m from Chelsea last summer, adding another experienced veteran to the Rossoneri’s frontline alongside Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
Giroud scored 11 goals in 29 games last season to help Milan win the league title, and this season he scored many goals, scoring nine goals in 18 in all competitions.
As reported by Corriere Della Sera, Milan has already prepared a contract extension for Giroud, writing up a one-year deal worth €3.5m net, the same figures that he currently earns in the Lombardy capital.
As reported by the Italian reports, Milan is ready to extend Giroud’s contract for another year, pushing back the expiry date by a year from 2023 to 2024. Milan is preparing a one-year deal worth 3.5 million euros for Giroud, which is the same as he is currently earning with Lombardy.
The player is likely to sign his new contract after the FIFA World Cup in Qatar, a tournament the 36-year-old desperately wants to appear, as France coach Didier Deschamps eagerly awaits the announcement of the Roster, which will be this week.
