Barcelona ends Champions League campaign with an easy win over Plzen
Barcelona closed its disappointing Champions League campaign with a 4-2 win at Viktoria Plzen on Tuesday. Barcelona had already been eliminated in advance, while the guest Plzen knew it had finished the last stage of the Champions League in Group C. Barcelona finished the group stage with a 4-2 win at Viktoria Plzen on Tuesday, a result that did little to cushion the blow of the Catalan club's second consecutive early exit in the European competition. The first goal came after just six minutes when Torres played the ball wide to Ansu Fati whose shot squirmed under the dive of Jindrich Stanek in the 45th minute. In the second half, Viktoria Plzen scored twice via Thomas Schori in the 51st and 63rd minutes, but Barca scored two goals through Ferran Torres in the 54th minute and Pablo Toure in the 75th minute.
Barcelona ends its Champions League campaign with 7 points and moved to the European League, while Viktoria Plzen was desperate to avoid finishing their campaign without a point, and potentially the worst record in tournament history.
FC Barcelona line up was as follows:
Goalkeepers: Inaki Pena
Defenders: Hector Bellerin - Gerard Pique - Marcos Alonso - Jordi Alba
Midfielders: Frank Kessie - Jaffe - Pablo Toure
