Ancelotti warns Real Madrid players against Elche clash

Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti warned his players against Elche clash scheduled for Wednesday in the tenth round of La Liga. The match comes after El Clasico against Barcelona, which cost us a physical and mental effort. Real Madrid travels to the Valencian Community to take on Elche this Wednesday in LaLiga, just three days after they recorded a historic 3-1 win over Barcelona in the 250th edition of El Clasico. Carlo Ancelotti's men have been in the formidable form of late, and remain unbeaten in their last 18 competitive fixtures, stretching back to a 1-0 defeat to Atletico Madrid back in May. Ancelotti also took the time to congratulate Barcelona’s winners, while he was asked if he was surprised by any of the results, such as Courtois only being seventh on the Ballon d’Or list or Manchester City being named club of the year. The Italian stated: “With this award, I have respect for City, who had a good season. With individual awards, the focus is usually on the players who score. For other positions, it’s harder. For a central midfielder, it’s hard too, as I was never up there for these awards! For a goalkeeper it’s really hard. But, I’m happy that Courtois won an award. What surprises me is that the likes of Kroos, Valverde, Militão and Alaba weren’t even in the top 30. Maybe you’ll say I’m biased in this and yes, I am.”
Regarding Courtois' appearance in tomorrow's match, the Italian said: "He will not be present in tomorrow's game. He is training normally and doing a good job." Real Madrid will be looking to move six points clear at the top of the La Liga table when they make the trip to Elche on Wednesday night.
Real are now on top of the standings with 25 points, three points ahead of runner-up Barcelona with 22 points. Dominant Real Madrid beat old rivals Barcelona 3-1 at home in 'El Clasico' on Sunday to move top of LaLiga.
