Real Madrid stars celebrate Benzema winning the Ballon d'Or

 
Real Madrid's training sessions this Tuesday witnessed the team's stars celebrating the French Karim Benzema after winning the Golden Ball, as the best player in the last season 2021-2022, and Belgian goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois with the Yashin Award, for the best goalkeeper. Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti took a souvenir photo with Karim Benzema and Thibaut Courtois, on the sidelines of the team's training this morning, in preparation for facing its host Elche on Wednesday in the tenth round of La Liga. The French forward has been in electric form this calendar year, stepping up as Los Blancos won the La Liga championship in 2021/22 along with a 14th Champions League at the hands of Liverpool in Paris.
Real are now on top of the standings with 25 points, ahead of runner-up Barcelona with 22 points. Real Madrid leapfrogged Barcelona at the summit of LaLiga as goals from Karim Benzema, Federico Valverde and Rodrygo sealed a 3-1 triumph in El Clasico on Sunday.
