Čeferin:UEFA will not remove Belarus from Euro 2024
UEFA President Aleksander Ceferin stressed that there was no justification for excluding Belarus from the qualifying draw for the European Nations Cup (Euro 2024) that was drawn last Sunday. UEFA President Ceferin said that suspension of clubs and teams in Belarus. He thinks it doesn’t make sense.UEFA decided Tuesday to let Belarus go into the 2024 European Championship qualifying draw next month despite a government request from tournament host Germany to remove the team because Belarus is a military ally of Russia.
UEFA said on Friday it received the letter to its president Aleksander Ceferin from German Interior Minister Nancy Faeser Wieser , asked UEFA to remove Belarus from trying to qualify for the 2024 European Championship which her country is hosting, citing that country’s support for Russia, according to a report by Der Spiegel magazine.
But Ceferin said in comments to the newspaper "Sport Bild" published: "It is popular to say that they are all excluded at the moment, we don't see any reason to do so."
