Barcelona identifies Busquets’ successor in exit-linked Chelsea midfielder

UK sports reports revealed that Barcelona needs to start laying down a succession plan for club captain Sergio Busquets, who is entering the final phase of his career and has just one year left on his contract. According to “The Daily Mirror” a newspaper published in London that frequently has the largest circulation in Britain, it indicated that Barcelona considers Chelsea's Jorginho as a free transfer replacement for Sergio Busquets, especially since the 30-year-old Italy international has just 10 months to run on his Stamford Bridge contract, and unless he agrees on new terms in south-west London, he will be available to talk to overseas clubs from January
Barcelona is looking at potential replacements for Sergio Busquets, who turns 35 next summers and will also be out of contract then. The newspaper added that the 33-year-old is already being approached by clubs from the Major League Soccer (MLS) over a possible transfer in 2023 when he will become a free agent.
The Italian international joined Chelsea from Napoli in 2018 in a deal worth 57 million euros and has been a permanent fixture in the middle of the park ever since, winning the UEFA Europa League, the Champions League, and several other trophies with the London club.
