Ancelotti: "We deservedly won. We won't take any risks with Benzema”

Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti confirmed that his team deservedly defeated its guest, Leipzig in the match that brought them on Wednesday in Madrid. Ancelotti spoke after his team’s 2-0 victory over RB Leipzig at the Santiago Bernabeu in the second round of the Champions League group stage. In a press interview, Ancelotti said: “The game wasn’t good, we wanted to play to win, and the defensive awareness was good, so I didn’t push the midfielders much forward.” He added: “The fatigue that gripped the opposition allowed us to put more pressure on us and we deserved to win. I have players who are smart enough to win matches.”
"We hope to get ahead of the opponent before the match is almost over. Leipzig has had a morale boost since Sunday after beating Dortmund with a very good performance, so we had some worries about this match, but we got over it." On Benzema and the possibility of his participation in the derby, he concluded: “We still don’t know about [Benzema], as he has been working individually. He is feeling good and we’ll decide after training, but we won’t take any risks, and if he is not in the best shape, he will not play.”
