Norwegian star and Manchester City's top scorer Erling Haaland has scored again tonight, and data have revealed that Norwegian is the greatest goal scorer in the history of the Champions League. Haaland was decisive once again with two goals as Manchester City comfortable saw off Sevilla 4-0 in Spain to open their Champions League campaign. Manchester City's top scorer achieved a remarkable achievement in the Champions League, after scoring two goals in City's 4-0 victory over Sevilla, in the first round of the group stage of the current season 2022-2023.
Haaland made it 11 for the season tonight for Manchester City for the season, scoring his 24th goal in the competition in just his 20th game. The official website of the UEFA confirmed that Haaland became the fastest player in the history of the tournament to score 25 goals, in 20 matches, breaking the previous record held by Dutch star Ruud van Nistelrooy, the same number of goals, but in 30 games.
Haaland has scored 25 times in 20 Champions League games, a tally that now includes goals on his debuts in the competition for City, distributed between Borussia Dortmund 15 goals, 8 goals with Red Bull Salzburg of Austria, and two goals with Manchester City.
