Chelsea linked with a decisive move to sign Barcelona striker Aubameyang
Barcelona's inability to raise any money from the sale of players may lead to selling some of the stars the club planned to keep, among them Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. Chelsea looks set to lock horns with Arsenal for the signing of Villarreal starlet Yeremy Pino. The 19-year-old has been heavily linked with a move to the Premier League this summer and is said to have already snubbed Barcelona. The Gabonese veteran arrived in Barcelona last February, and appeared on the scene, scoring 13 goals in La Liga's second half of the season. This helped the Blaugrana to finish second in the standing, but Barcelona pursued Robert Lewandowski as a key target this summer, and they managed to include him, and he started in the first match against Rayo Vallecano, and it is likely that this will lead to Aubameyang's exit to the bench more often.
Coach Xavi Hernandez has assured that he will rely on Aubameyang and want every position covered by two top players, however, the club may find him a reasonable sale as they try to raise funds for other deals. Chelsea is said to be the most interested in signing Aubameyang. According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea owner Todd Boehle has scheduled a meeting with Aubameyang's agents in order to understand his demands and desires. Once they have a clear idea of what it will cost and Barcelona's demands, which are said to be around €30m, Bouli will make an offer. It appears to be a tough deal, as neither Xavi nor Aubameyang seem to have much desire to seal the deal, and persuading the 33-year-old to leave his new life in Catalonia is the first and possibly decisive step in any deal.
