Opta added that the supercomputer predicts could see another close battle between Liverpool and Manchester City in 2022-23, as Jurgen Klopp's team outperformed Pep Guardiola's team in the title struggle. Via OptaJoe, the computer has predicted Liverpool becoming champions this season with a 49.7% chance of winning the title, ahead of Manchester City, who got just 47%. Opta pointed out that this means Liverpool won the second title in the Premier League era after lifting the Cup without their fans at Anfield in the 2019-20 season, but more importantly, winning the 20th English Premier League title in history, which makes it equal with Manchester United, the record holder for the most crowning.
