Chelsea completed its fourth summer signing as a deal for the next new goalkeeper

Chelsea FC has completed their fourth signing of the summer for Thomas Tuchel as 18-year-old goalkeeper Gabriel Slonina joins the club. He joins the club from Chicago Fire in the MLS, where he will be on loan until January after completing a move back to his boyhood club. Chelsea said on their official website: “Chelsea has completed their fourth signing of the summer for Thomas Tuchel as 18-year-old goalkeeper Gabriel Slonina joins the club from the American side Chicago Fire where he will return on loan to complete his season before moving to West London at the start of 2023.” Slonina has signed a mammoth six-year deal to keep him at the club until 2028 and will leave behind an impressive list of records in America has signed a professional deal at just 14 and became the MLS's youngest ever goalkeeper, making his debut at 17.
Gabriel Slonina considered one of the most promising talents in his homeland, Slonina became Chicago's youngest player when he agreed to a professional deal with the club in 2019. At just 14 years old, he is also the youngest goalkeeper ever to start an MLS game. Slonina also represented the USA at several youth levels and received his first international call-up in December, where he was selected to the bench in the friendly match in which the USA won 1-0 over Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The American becomes Todd Boehly's fourth confirmed the signing of the summer after deals for Kalidou Koulibaly and Raheem Sterling and Karne Chokwemica of Aston Villa were completed last month.
