Liverpool set to offer a new lucrative contract to Diogo as a reward for performance

UK press reports revealed that Liverpool is set to hand a new lucrative deal to the Portuguese forward Diogo Jota after meeting his performance expectations at Anfield in the summer of 2020, in a deal worth 45 million euros. Following an exceptional start to life under Jurgen Klopp, the 25-year-old can expect a healthy pay rise according to The Telegraph, as Liverpool looks to tie down the Portugal international for the long-term. Liverpool plans to reward Jota with a new contract to stay with the team until 2027, after the impressive levels he has made with the team since his arrival from Wolverhampton, knowing that his current contract expires in the summer of 2025.
The newspaper added that the Reds Board will start negotiations to extend the contract of the Portuguese striker during the coming period, in order to maintain his continuity with the team until 2027. Jota had missed most of the pre-season training sessions with a hamstring injury, including the Community Shield victory over Manchester City last Saturday 3-1, and is not expected back any time soon due to injury.
