Press reports revealed that Chelsea becomes close to sealing a deal to sign Marc Cucurella after hijacking Man City's move by meeting Brighton's £50m asking price for versatile Spanish defender, as talks continue with RB Leipzig over swap for Josko Gvardiol and Timo Werner. According to well-respected journalist Fabrizio Romano on Twitter, the Brighton full left-back back has reached a “full agreement” to make a transfer this summer to Stamford Bridge. Romano explains the Blues will hold further discussions with Brighton on Tuesday in order to finalize the transfer. Therefore, it sounds like this could be wrapped up as early as today and he could become the club’s third signing of the window. It’s been reported that Chelsea is willing to cough up Brighton’s £ 50 million asking price for Cucurella, so look favorites to beat Manchester City to his signature. Manchester City was reportedly 'leading the race for the signing of Cucurella Brighton’s player until the past few days, but negotiations between the two clubs stopped, in light of the City's refusal to receive the financial compensation required to sign the player.
