Xavi comments on speculation surrounding De Jong's future and Leva's pitfalls

Barcelona coach Xavi Hernandez expressed his satisfaction with the level of the players during the friendly matches played during the Barca USA tour in preparation for the new season. Xavi was pleased with the USA tour after Barcelona beat New York Red Bulls. Speaking after the victory over the New York Red Bulls, Xavi said: “The pre-season tour was generally positive. We still have work to do, I’m satisfied, but there is still a long way to go" he said. Xavi spoke about Lewandowski’s performance after the match against New York Red Bulls. “Lewandowski is frustrated, but that is normal. It’s the same thing that happened to Luis Suárez when he came. He will end up scoring,” he said, per Barca Universal.
Xavi was asked about the speculation surrounding De Jong following the match and said: ‘I don’t know if he’s going to stay, there’s still time and a lot of things can still happen. At the moment he’s part of the team, like everyone else.’ “I have not sent any signal to Frenkie de Jong. Let’s see what happens, there’s a lot of time left until August 31″, he said. Speaking of Ousmane Dembele, who scored against the New York Red Bulls, Xavi said: “I love Dembélé as a player. I trust him a lot and he knows it. Since I arrived, he has been making a difference, with 13 assists last year. Now imagine the footballer we would have if he starts scoring goals…”
Ousmane Dembele and Memphis Depay scored the goals in front of a sellout crowd of 25,252 at Red Bull Arena as Barca finished their four-match tour unbeaten, which included a 1-0 win over rivals Real Madrid.
