FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™ volunteering closing date on Sunday 31 July

Registrations to become a FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™ volunteer will close on Sunday 31 July, with interviews set to be completed by 13 August – which marks 100 days to go to the tournament.
It is scheduled that 20,000 volunteers will participate in supporting the operational aspects of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™, in the first edition of the world championship to be held in the Arab world and the region, which begins on November 21 and will continue until December 18. FIFA World Cup Qatar competitions will be hosted among eight stadiums built according to the highest specifications. Volunteers will form a pivotal and active element in the success of the tournament, as they receive more than 30 different roles, through which they provide support to 45 operational aspects. The International Football Association (FIFA) announced the opening of applications to participate in the volunteer program for the Qatar World Cup 2022, during a special ceremony held last March in the open theater in Katara Cultural Village.
The FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™ Volunteer Program has interviewed thousands of candidates from more than 170 countries since mid-May when the Volunteer Centre was opened in Doha. The interviews are being conducted by volunteers who have actively supported FIFA tournaments organized by Qatar, such as the FIFA Club World Cup Qatar 2020™ and the FIFA Arab Cup Qatar 2021™. The task of carrying out interviews were carried out by volunteers who provided support for tournaments organized in Qatar under the umbrella of FIFA, such as the Club World Cup 2020 and the Arab Cup 2021.
Faisal Al Mohanadi, who volunteered at past events and is supporting the recruitment of volunteers for the FIFA World Cup™, said: “I am very proud to support the volunteer programme, which will unite people through football and help to introduce fans from across the world to our country. It is my belief that this program will create a proud volunteering legacy in Qatar and across the region.”
Volunteers must be aged 18 or over by 1 October 2022, speak English and be available to commit to a minimum of 10 shifts during the tournament. Candidates should note that some volunteer roles will start as early as 1 October.
The FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™ Volunteer Program is the largest in the country’s history and aims to unite people through football to deliver an outstanding tournament – celebrating love for the game and showcasing the true spirit of Qatar.
