Shock in Juventus! Pogba sent for scans with a knee injury
Italian club Juventus announced the absence of French midfielder Paul Pogba from the friendly game against rival Spanish counterpart Barcelona, scheduled for Wednesday, as part of the two teams' preparations for the start of the new season. Paul Pogba went off with problems with his knee at half-time in the friendly against Chivas Guadalajara due to his suffering from injury. Juventus revealed they sent Pogba for preliminary scans, which revealed a meniscus issue, and they will now seek a further specialist opinion on the issue.
“Following complaining of pain in his right knee, Paul Pogba underwent radiological examinations that revealed a lesion of the lateral meniscus,” Juventus said in a statement on Monday night.
“In the next few hours, he will undergo a specialist orthopedic consultation. Therefore, in order to continue treatment, he is not taking part in the trip to Dallas.”
Sky Sports International revealed that Pogba will not appear in the remaining games with Juventus, as he is expected to miss the start of the Italian League against Sassuolo.
Pogba has missed significant chunks of his last three seasons at Manchester United through injury - but interestingly he has never suffered a publicly recorded knee injury.
