Napoli's Belgian striker Mertens leaves the team as a free agent

Napoli's Belgian striker Dries Mertens will leave the team as a free agent. This was announced by Napoli president Aurelio De Laur. The Italian club Napoli announced on Sunday, the departure of its Belgian striker and historical scorer, Dries Mertens, as a free agent after the end of his contract with the club, at the end of last season, after 9 seasons he spent with the Italian club South.
The official Napoli account was published on Twitter, saying: "Thank you, Mertens." The 35-year-old Belgian joined Napoli in the summer of 2013 from the Dutch club PSV Eindhoven in a deal worth 10 million euros.
Mertens is the historical top scorer for the Naples team with 148 goals in various competitions, scoring in 397 games and providing 90 assists. Mertens won two Italian Cups with Napoli, in addition to the Italian Super Cup once.
