Because of Man United, Ronaldo Lost £1m Last Season

English press reports revealed that Manchester United striker Cristiano Ronaldo lost three of the bonus items he was supposed to receive with Manchester United worth one million pounds over the course of last season. The Red Devils signed Ronaldo last summer for 12.5 million pounds from Juventus, and the Portuguese agreed to a contract that gives him a wage of 475,000 pounds per week. This comes at a time when Ronaldo was earning £900,000 a week with Juventus, and according to the Daily, Star United has tried to make up for that somewhat, by including three lucrative bonus clauses in his contract. The Portuguese were due to receive a £1m bonus if he led Manchester United to qualification for the Champions League last season, but that did not happen, as Old Trafford could only finish sixth.
Despite scoring 24 goals in 38 games in all competitions last season, Ronaldo failed to win any of the three rewards. The former Real Madrid player is now looking to leave as the Red Devils prepare to play their first season under Eric ten Hag, as Ronaldo still with another year remaining on his contract, although the Red Devils are still controlling the player's future to some extent.
