Real Madrid sells Japan youngster Kubo to La Liga rivals Real Sociedad

The Spanish Real Sociedad FC has confirmed the signing of 21-year-old Japanese winger Takefusa Kubo on a permanent basis during the current summer transfer market. According to Spain sports outlets, Kubo will sign a five-year contract until 2027 with La Real. Spanish press reports revealed that Kubo signed a five-year contract with Sociedad until 2027 with La Real.
This deal cost Sociedad treasury an amount of 6 million euros, but Real Madrid retains 50% of the player’s rights, and Real will also have the option to buy it back if he shines with his new team.
The 21-year-old Japanese player joined Real Madrid in the summer of 2019, coming from the Japanese club Tokyo, before the club took him out on loan to Real Mallorca twice, Villarreal and Getafe.
The Japanese winger Kubo spent last season on loan with Mallorca and his contract with Los Blancos was due to expire in 2024. Kubo played 18 matches with the “Samurai” team, during which he scored one goal, and is expected to be the next star of Japanese football.
