Eight Argentina players who played for Man United amid Lisandro Martinez links
Argentine international defender Lisandro Martinez is set to become Manchester United's eighth Argentinean signing of the transfer window for the Reds after the English giants agreed on a deal with Ajax on Sunday. Manchester United is delighted to announce the club has reached an agreement with Ajax for the transfer of Argentine international defender Lisandro Martinez, subject to medical, to player terms being finalised, and to UK visa requirements," United said in a statement.
Martinez moved to Ajax from Defensa y Justicia in his homeland, winning two Eredivisie titles and helping the Dutch champions reach the last 16 of the Champions League last season.
Martinez is the eighth player from Argentina to join Manchester United, where the club started with Juan Veron, who played in the Red Devils shirt during the period from 2001 to 2003; he played 82 games with the team and scored 11 goals.
