Ibrahimovic signs new one-year deal with Milan

Gianluca Di Marzio reports that Zlatan Ibrahimovic has put pen to paper on his new one-year contract with Milan. The 40-year-old Swedish forward is technically a free agent after his deal expired with the Rossoneri at the start of this month, but it quickly became clear that he’d stay for another year, despite the serious knee operation he underwent at the end of May.
Di Marzio details how Paolo Maldini and Frederic Massara visited Ibrahimovic at his villa on Lake Garda recently and secured his signature on the new one-year deal. The contract will see him earn a fixed salary of around €1-1.5m net per season, but attached are generous add-ons related to assists, goals and objectives.
Ibrahimovic is hoping to return to action after the upcoming World Cup in Qatar, when the Serie A season will take a between November 14 and January 3.
Last season, the 40-year-old Swede scored eight goals and provided three assists in 23 league appearances.
