Napoli takes Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa on loan to save Ospina's departure

In search of a starting goalkeeper after the departure of the Colombian David Ospina who has joined the Saudi club Al-Nassr, Italian Napoli has inquired with Chelsea for their replacement goalkeeper, Kepa Arrizabalaga, according to The MARCA Sport. The Spain international is not wanted at Stamford Bridge, as Edward Mendy was the undisputed number one for coach Thomas Tuchel. A recent report from the Spanish newspaper "Marca" confirmed that Kepa is seeking a chance for a few minutes in the next season, before the World Cup in Qatar, and among the best options on the table will be his loan for a season to Napoli.
Napoli witnessed the departure of their first goalkeeper, David Ospina, to the Saudi Al-Nasr FC, and he is likely to be in the Mercato for a new goalkeeper. Italy international Alex Merritt is Napoli's current No. 1 ahead of the new season, but recent reports suggest he is keen to understand his place in coach Luciano Spalletti's plans amid the Turin interest. Kepa has made just 29 appearances in all competitions since Mendy arrived at Chelsea in 2020.
Kepa remains the most expensive goalkeeper in the world to date, having joined Chelsea for 80 million euros and played 11 caps for Spain.
