Man United reaches agreement with Barca over Frenkie de Jong

According to press reports, Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong has decided to change his mind about his future and is currently keen to reunite with his compatriot coach Eric Ten Hag at Manchester United.
The 25-year-old has appeared in a transfer saga related to a potential move to Old Trafford, where he has been linked to former Ajax coach Ten Hag.
Barcelona initially resisted Man United's attempts to keep De Jong away from the Camp Nou, with Joan Laporta insisting the Netherlands international was not for sale, but the Red Devils decided to pay £72m to bring De Jong to the Premier League.
The English newspaper "Mirror" reported that De Jong is now open to a move to the Red Devils this summer.
De Jong presumably owes Barcelona £17m in deferred wages, so midfielder and agent Ali Dursun are using a specific strategy to get full payment.
The report adds that both do not want to reveal De Jong's intention to move to Manchester United, as this may weaken their position in negotiations with Barcelona over the unpaid money.
The Dutch midfielder has scored 13 goals and 17 assists in 140 games for Barcelona in all competitions since 2019.
