Man City plans long-term renewal for Riyad Mahrez

Press reports revealed Manchester City's plan to retain the services of their Winger Riyad Mahrez and now he is close to renewing his contract with Manchester City, which expires in June 2023. The 31-year-old will remain linked with the Sky Blues for several more seasons.
According to the famous Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, Manchester City will start negotiations with the Algerian Riyad Mahrez, in order to renew his contract during the coming period.
Fabrizio added that Spaniard Pep Guardiola wants to keep Mahrez for as long as possible, especially after the departure of Brazilian Gabriel Jesus to Arsenal, and the approaching departure of Raheem Sterling towards Chelsea during the current summer Mercato.
Pep Guardiola's management wants to establish a new contract, although it will not be a long-term one either, as the striker is already over 30 years old (31). According to the British media, Mahrez will sign a contract for which he will receive nine million euros per season.
