Dembele is close to agreeing to the Barcelona extension

Frenchman Ousmane Dembele, the Spanish winger of Barcelona, is close to renewing his contract with the Catalan team, which expires this summer. According to the Catalan newspaper, “Mundo Deportivo”, an agreement between the two sides is imminent, as Dembele is in a hurry to renew with Barcelona, adding that the player is still Barca's priority and wants a quick solution. The supposed deal would see him tied to the Catalan club until 2024. The newspaper added that Barcelona and Dembele eventually concluded that the optimal scenario is to continue together and not to leave the player in the current summer transfer period.
They indicated that Barcelona believes that Dembele will agree to renew his contract even with a 40% reduction in his previous salary, explaining that the results of the negotiations are very positive and that will appear in the next few hours. The club's last offer to Dembele would have seen him have to take a 40 percent reduction on his former wages, settling for the same salary as Ansu Fati, so Barcelona could have stayed within the LaLiga salary cap limits, according to the newspaper.
