UEFA President: The European Super League died

Slovenian lawyer Alexander Ceferin, President of the European Football Association (UEFA), is not afraid of the possibility of taking legal action that would revive the (European Super League), which broke away from the competitions of the Continental Confederation, which was previously called for by twelve of the elite clubs in the old continent.
“Whatever the court’s decision, it doesn’t change anything: the project is dead because nobody wants to take part,” said the 54-year-old in an interview with the Italian sports newspaper “Gazzetta Dello Sport”.
Spanish football giants Real Madrid and Barcelona, as well as Italy's Juventus, continue to seek to break away from the UEFA competitions, but the other nine rebellious clubs, including UK Manchester United and Liverpool have succumbed to UEFA's threats to impose severe penalties on teams participating in the Super League.
In the dispute over the foundation of the league consisting of top European clubs, negotiations are scheduled for mid-July. Previously, however, numerous clubs had already turned away from the project, which is still being operated by Real Madrid, Barcelona, and Juventus Turin. It was decided to transfer the issue of establishing the Super League to the European Court of Justice, where is expected to consider it next July.
