Germany thrash Italy 5-2 to pick up their first win in UEFA Nations League

Germany claimed their first win of the UEFA campaign as they hammered its guest Italy 5-2 in Monchengladbach at Borussia Park, in the fourth round of Group C of the European Nations League this season. Joshua Kimmich got things started in the 10th minute and Germany never looked back, with Thomas Muller netting early in the second half after Gundogan had scored from the penalty spot. Timo Werner's rapid double added further gloss to a mightily impressive victory, as Germany made a statement of intent despite consolations from Wilfried Gnonto and Alessandro Bastoni.
In the second half, Thomas Muller scored Germany's third goal, before Timo Werner added the fourth and fifth goals, in less than two minutes 68 and 69. Wilfried Tonto scored Italy's first goal in the 78th minute before Alessandro Bastoni scored the second goal for the Azzurri in the 90th minute of the match. Now Germany raised its score to 6 points in the group rank behind Hungary, the top in the standings with 7 points, while Italy froze its balance at 5 points, as finally England with two points at the bottom.
