The Portuguese giants, Benfica, have officially announced the two clubs have agreed on a €75million (around £64m) transfer fee for the Uruguayan forward. Nunez has just completed a prolific season at Benfica, scoring 34 goals and providing four assists in 41 appearances.

The fee was agreed in the early hours of Monday morning and Liverpool are yet to announce the news.
An official statement from Benfica in the early hours of Monday confirmed Nunez would leave the club for Liverpool, and the Reds could have a €75million (around £64m) transfer fee for the Uruguayan forward, with the figure rising to €100m (around £85.3m) with add-ons.
Nunez is set to leave Benfica having scored 47 goals and 16 assists in 84 games for the Portuguese giants since arriving from Almeria for a fee of £21.6m in the summer of 2020.
Nunez will undergo treatment in Liverpool on Monday ahead of an official announcement from Liverpool and will arrive on Merseyside after Divock Origi exits as a free agent.
The arrival of Nunez could open the door for Sadio Mane to complete the expected move to Bayern Munich.
