French powerhouse Paris Saint-Germain has reached an agreement with Mauricio Pochettino that will see the Argentine leave his role ahead of the upcoming season after 18 months in charge. According to the British newspaper, “The Athletic”, Pochettino met with Paris officials last week to discuss what happened in the past season, and the two parties agreed that the Argentine would not continue in his position, ending an 18-month period at the head of the technical leadership of the team, knowing that the contract between the two parties It was to expire in 2023.
In the next two days, Paris will work to find a formula for Pochettino's exit from the club, while working on contracting a replacement, in light of the management's consideration of former Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane as an initial option.
On Saturday, French press reports had stated that Pochettino's departure would cost the Paris club management about 15 million euros. Pochettino, 50-years-old, won the French League title, the French Cup, and the French Super Cup with Saint-Germain.
