Macron confirms advising Mbappe to remain in France

French President Emmanuel Macron has confirmed he talked to Kylian Mbappe to “advise” him on his future before the striker penned a new contract at Paris Saint-Germain. Emmanuel Macron, President of France, has admitted that he indeed did talk to PSG superstar Kylian Mbappe prior to his renewal with the French club.
"Yes, it is true that I had a conversation with Mbappe before he made a firm decision about his future," revealed Macron."In it, I merely advised him, in a totally informal way, to remain in France. I believe it is my responsibility, as president, to defend the country when asked in an informal and friendly manner." Macron revealed this in an interview with several daily newspapers. Mbappe, who had been fond of moving to Real Madrid for a long time, confirmed earlier that he had held talks with Macron.
Mbappe has ended speculation over his future by renewing with Paris Saint-Germain until 2025.
