La Liga President threatens Barcelona again: “You will not sign Lewandowski”!

Javier Tebas, president of the Spanish football league La Liga, confirmed that there is no way for Barcelona to sign Polish international striker Robert Lewandowski unless Barca would have to sell at least one of their main stars to finance a transfer of Lewandowski’s caliber.
Lewandowski confirmed that he will not renew his contract with Bayern Munich, which expires in 2023, and made it clear yesterday, Monday, that his time at the Bavarian club has ended, and that he wants to leave this summer, amid speculation about his approach to moving to Barcelona.
Tebas indicated that Barcelona will not be able to bear the Lewandowski deal, in light of the Catalan club having to reduce its expenses as a result of the financial crisis it is experiencing.
Tebas believes that there is no alternative for Barcelona but to sell one of its prominent players in order to accumulate the money needed to sign Lewandowski.
“Barcelona knows what to do if they want to sign Lewandowski,” Tebas told Europe Press on Tuesday.
“They know that our economic controls are strictly enforced, in order to avoid major economic problems, I don’t know if they will sell Frenkie de Jong or Pedri,” he added.
