MILAN: Ibrahimovic will continue playing on one condition

AC Milan's striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic has reportedly decided to play for one more season provided he won’t need to undergo a new surgery in the coming weeks. The Swede’s contract at San Siro runs out in June and his future remains up in the air given his struggles with injuries this season. The 40-year-old has scored eight goals in 23 appearances this term, missing 18 games because of injuries.
According to Calciomercato.com, the veteran striker has already decided that he wants to continue playing for one more season, but a final decision isn’t only up to him. The former Manchester United and Barcelona striker isn’t willing to retire but will have a specialist visit in the coming weeks to evaluate whether or not he needs a new keyhole surgery.
If a new operation isn’t necessary, Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara will offer him a new one-year deal until June 2023. On the other hand, if Ibra needs to go under the knife, forcing him to remain out of action for several months, he may decide to end his playing career. Milan remains on the lookout for a new center-forward regardless of Ibrahimovic’s decision over his future.
