Barcelona finished 13 points behind La Liga champions Real Madrid after ending their turbulent season with a whimper on Sunday by losing 2-0 at home and among fans to Villarreal. Pedraza scored the opener in the 41st  minute with a precise shot after receiving a fine through ball from Dani Parejo and Gómez sealed the win in the 55th, striking powerfully home from close range after Adama Traoré made a mistake while trying to clear the ball from his own area.
Barcelona ends the La Liga marathon occupying second place in the Spanish league table with 73 points, while Villarreal is in seventh place with 59 points.
