Benzema was seeking to have his compatriot join Real Madrid to play together in the ranks of the league champion, as well as the first French national team, but Mbappe broke his promise and decided to stay in the Parisian club. Mbappe appeared with Nasser Al-Khelaifi, president of Paris Saint-Germain, before the start of the Metz match on Saturday. Mbappe celebrated his new contract with PSG in style, scoring a hat trick as the French champions beat Metz 5-0 on Saturday.
PSG announced, on Saturday, the renewal of the contract of its star Mbappe until 2025, ending the controversy that erupted in recent months over the player’s link to the move to Real Madrid.
