RB Leipzig lifted the German Cup at the expense of Freiburg 

RB Leipzig defeated Freiburg 4-2 on penalties in a vibrant German Cup final on Saturday, bringing Domenico Tedesco's side their first major trophy in its history, despite playing for an hour with 10 men at Berlin's Olympic stadium after the two teams tied 1-1. Leipzig won the championship during the clash at the Olympic Stadium on Saturday in the final of the tournament. Maschimlian Eggstein advanced for Freiburg in the 19th minute, while Christopher Nkono equalized in the 76th minute, bringing the two teams into a thrilling clash that ended 1-1 after extra time, and then penalty kicks, which favored Leipzig.
Leipzig won the title for the first time in its history, after losing the previous two times to Bayern Munich 3-0 in the 2018-2019 season and Borussia Dortmund 4-1 in the final last season. Leipzig qualified for the vibrant German Cup final match at the expense of Union Berlin 2-1 in the semi-finals, while Freiburg made light work of Bundesliga 2 promotion hopefuls Hamburg on Tuesday, running out 3-1 winners to book their place in the DFB Cup final.
