As of next season: Saudi FA raises the number of foreign players in a squad to 8

The Saudi Football Association announced the increase in the number of clubs participating in the Mohammed bin Salman Professional Cup League to 18, starting from the 2023-2024 sports season, while raising the number of foreign players to 8.
The Saudi Football Association sent a letter to the league clubs regarding the number of foreign players next season. The Saudi newspaper, Al-Jazirah, confirmed that the Saudi Football Association informed the teams that the number of foreigners in the next season is 8 players, including 7 in the main list, noting that in the first division, the number of foreign players will be 6, with the option of replacing one of the seats with a born player.
The news added, that only 4 foreign players will be available in the second division, with the option to replace one of the seats with a born player.
It is noteworthy that the number of foreign players in the current season is estimated at 7, but it has been increased for the next season to 8 based on the consensus of the league clubs.
Al Ittihad Jeddah leads the Saudi Professional League with 61 points, 6 points ahead of Al Hilal.
Al-Ittihad is seeking to crown the Saudi League title for the ninth time in its history and the first since winning the 2008-2009 season, while Al-Hilal hopes to win the title for the third time in a row and the eighteenth in its history.
