Sends a request to the Egyptian FA: Al-Ahly calls for the “final stadium” crisis to be escalated to “FIFA”

Egypt’s Al-Ahly club announced on Wednesday that it had sent a letter to the Egyptian Football Association requesting it to raise the issue of Morocco’s hosting of the African Champions League final to the International Federation of the game “FIFA”.
Al-Ahly in a statement on its official website on Wednesday confirmed that it had sent a request to the Egyptian Football Association, requesting the escalation of the crisis of the Champions League final stadium to the International Football Association "FIFA".
Al-Ahly, the defending champion, had called on the African Union in an official letter on Sunday to move the final match of the African Champions League to a neutral stadium, pointing to the application of the principle of equal opportunities, after the Moroccan Wydad Casablanca approached qualifying for the final match.

This request from Al-Ahly comes in response to a decision issued recently choosing the Mohammed V complex stadium in Morocco to host the final of the African Championship for the second year in a row. Al-Ahli's statement published on its Twitter account stated: “Al-Ahly club sent a letter today to the Egyptian Football Association, requesting the escalation of the crisis of the final match stadium of the Champions League to the International Football Association, so that the referred to will be held in a neutral stadium away from the four teams who are currently in the semi-finals.”
The statement added, "This comes in response to the CAF decision, which was issued recently, to choose a specific stadium to host this event for the second year in a row, which has not happened by any continental federation before." The statement continued: "Especially since the decision was issued very late, and after the number of competing teams was reduced to only four. The same decision now serves a particular club, which will play the final match "if it qualified" at its stadium and among its fans.”
Al-Ahly is currently in Algeria in preparation for meeting ES Setif in the second leg of the semi-finals of the tournament, as Al-Ahly beat Algeria’s ES Setif in the first leg 4-0 in Cairo.
