Will Russia turning to the Asian Federation to survive EUEFA's sanctions?

Press reports revealed that the Russian Football Union is considering switching from the European Football Association the Union of European Football Associations – UEFA to its counterpart the Asian Confederation, to escape the ban imposed on teams and clubs from participating in competitions, against the backdrop of the Russian war against Ukraine.FIFA and UEFA have announced that Russian clubs and national teams are suspended in all their football competitions until further notice, after the military operations carried out by the Russian forces against Ukraine since last February. 
The Daily Mail, the British daily middle-market newspaper and news website published in London reported that the Russian Football Union is considering switching from the European Union to the Asian Football Confederation, as they have more allies there, so that national teams and clubs could participate in continental competitions. The newspaper added that Russia's transition to the AFC will need ratification from all other Asian federations, and it may be unclear. The Australian teams and clubs are now participating in Asian competitions, after The Australian Football League (AFL) left the Oceania Confederation, which it was affiliated with in the past.
