Eriksen scores on his first game appearance with Denmark return

Denmark's and Brentford' midfielder Christian Eriksen sealed a fairytale return to international football with a goal, but it was not enough to prevent Denmark from slumping to a friendly defeat to the Netherlands, during the friendly match currently being held at the "Johan Cruyff Arena".
Eriksen found the net two minutes after coming on with a powerful drive in a 4-2 defeat against fellow World Cup qualifiers Netherlands in Amsterdam. After arriving on the pitch as a half-time substitute for Jesper Lindstrom, Eriksen made an immediate impact, dispatching a first-time shot into the top corner of the net with his very first touch to reduce the Netherlands' lead to 3-2 in the Amsterdam friendly.
Christian Eriksen appearing in his first match for the Denmark national team since suffering cardiac arrest at the Euros last June, Eriksen received a standing ovation upon entering the pitch at Johan Cruyff Arena, the stadium where he began his playing career with his first pro club Ajax.
Eriksen had a heart attack on the field at the last European Nations Cup last June, before returning to the green rectangle again from the Brentford team gate last February, after a battery of tests in a Copenhagen hospital, his heart was fitted with an implantable cardioverter defibrillator that will deliver a shock to restore a regular rhythm should he have another cardiac problem.
