Date of the African Super Cup revealed

The competition for the African football crown reignites on Sunday, November 8, 2026, when South Africa's Mamelodi Sundowns host Algeria's USM Alger in a highly anticipated clash for the CAF Super Cup title at Loftus Versfeld Stadium in Pretoria. Both teams enter the match with high hopes of adding another continental trophy to their collections. Sundowns secured their place as the reigning CAF Champions League winners, while USM Alger qualified after winning the CAF Confederation Cup. The South African side aims to recapture past glories and lift the trophy for the second time in their history, having previously won it in 2017. Meanwhile, USM Alger hopes to repeat their success and claim the title for the second time, following their first triumph in 2023 in Taif, Saudi Arabia, where they defeated Egypt's Al Ahly 1-0. This match holds particular significance for both teams, given their desire to solidify their presence on the continental stage and end the season with another achievement, especially since Super Cup matches are often decided by small details and capitalizing on opportunities. Pyramids FC of Egypt won the title in the previous edition, defeating RS Berkane of Morocco 1-0, and are the defending champions.
