The Saudi national team is training in Doha

The Saudi national football team is preparing to begin a new phase of its training program during the November international break. The international players are scheduled to join the squad on November 8th, ahead of the training camp in Doha, Qatar, which will run from the following day until the 17th of the month. Recent changes to the schedules of Asian tournaments and domestic competitions have not affected the national team's plans. The team management insisted on holding the camp as originally planned, despite the Asian Football Confederation's decision to move the 2027 AFC Asian Cup to December 23, 2027, to January 21, 2028, in coordination with the Saudi Arabian Football Federation and the tournament's organizing committee. This coincided with the postponement of the 13th round of the Saudi Professional League, which was scheduled to begin next Thursday. However, this change did not necessitate any adjustments to the national team's program during the current international break. During their stay in Doha, the Saudi national team will play two friendly matches, facing South Korea on November 13th and Uzbekistan on November 17th. The coaching staff aims to use these matches to assess the players' performance, experiment with various tactical options, and enhance team cohesion. For logistical arrangements, the Waldorf Astoria Hotel has been selected to host the Saudi team throughout their training camp, the first phase of a two-stage preparation program that includes training in Qatar and Al-Khobar. The team is scheduled to move to Al-Khobar for the second phase, from December 21st to January 3rd, 2026, which will include two friendly matches against Qatar on December 27th and Jordan on January 2nd. This will complete the four-match friendly schedule planned by the coaching staff as part of their preparations for upcoming competitions.
