**We congratulate HE Sheikh Dr. Khalid bin Thani bin Abdullah Al-Thani who has been elected by acclamation as Honorary President of the Arab Federation for Sports of People with Disabilities, in a Federation's Board of Directors meeting held in Cairo. Despite his great responsibilities, HE Sheikh Dr. Khalid bin Thani supports humanitarian work and his continuous support for this segment prompted him to accept this position.

I remember very well the 11th Asian Championships in Athletics were held in late September 1995 in Jakarta, Indonesia, and how His Excellency was a strong supporter of the Iraqi athletes in that tournament. We understand that he apologized for revealing some of the secrets of that era, as I was an accompanying journalist and a witness to the full support he gave to our Iraqi brothers, which made Maysa Hussein, an Iraqi long-distance runner won an Asian bronze medal, although she suffers from anemia (common blood disorder), but she raised the Iraqi flag and got the support and encouragement she deserved.
