Benzema tends to extend one-year-contract with Real Madrid

French press reports revealed Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema is set to stay at Real Madrid his contract expires at the end of the current season. According to the French website "Foot Mercato", Benzema agreed with the royal club Board to renew his contract for an additional season and to remain in the Real Madrid shirt until the summer of 2024, as the official announcement of the renewal of his contract is very imminent. Reports indicated that the two parties agreed on all the details of the new contract. The French website indicated that Benzema intends to end his career in the Madrid giant jersey, despite the financial temptations from the Saudi club Al-Nasr to join his former colleague Portuguese Cristiano Ronaldo. Benzema signed a six-year contract after Madrid and Olympique Lyon agreed on the contract’s clauses. Benzema won his first Ballon d'Or in Paris on Monday after a truly remarkable 2021-22 season for both Real Madrid and France. Benzema's name was linked with a move to Suadi’s Al-Nasr FC, which caused a stir in the winter transfer market by contracting with Cristiano Ronaldo until the summer of 2025.
